Interpunct-Press has produced one complete children’s book, “Things on Strings” and has a couple others in process. They’ve all been written for one very special little boy who is growing to be a very special very big kid.
Things on Strings is a children’s book. It is comprised of twenty images of things on strings with a cute little verse to go with each one about what kind of a thing on a string it is. It took me weeks to think of twenty. Each illustration is carved in linoleum and each verse is hand typeset and letterpress printed. The covers are letterpress printed, as well. I then scanned an digitally printed the letterpressed pages and hand-bound them with a shoestring, ‘cause…strings. I wrote it for my kiddo when he was very small.
This is an image from “Monster’s Aren’t Scary.” It is a yet to be released children’s book written to demystify monsters in order to allow children to sleep soundly. There are a variety of monsters in the story. More images to come…
Things on Strings is a charming easy reader about 20 things on strings. It has 20 charming linocut illustrations with 20 little lyrics to a corresponding poem about things on strings. The first edition was hand typeset and letterpress printed. It is hand bound with a shoe string because…why not?
